About the Holy Quran
The Holy Quran is the central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be the word of Allah (God) as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) over a period of approximately 23 years.
The Quran is divided into 114 chapters (surahs) and 6,236 verses (ayahs), organized into 30 parts (juz). It was revealed in Arabic and has been memorized and recited by millions of Muslims — those who memorize it completely are given the honorific title Hafiz.
